Wine as a gift

You know it - it's Friday and you're going to a reception, birthday, dinner with friends or something else. And what should you take with you? Many of us rush past the grocer or the wine merchant and buy a few bottles of wine, which the recipient gets in the hand when you arrive.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but can't we make it a little better? Certainly in a way where you as the giver and not least the recipient get a little more out of the gift.

I tried it myself recently, when I was going to a reception and hadn't come up with anything. Hmmm - what to do?? I do not know the recipient in detail, but could remember that he and his wife like to vacation in Italy. Aha - then it must be an Italian wine. Go down to the basement and look, because the budget has to last as well. I found a Rosso di Montalcino from Tuscany, which I like a lot myself. I wrote a card in which I partly wished congratulations and partly wrote a little about the wine and tips for food composition and serving. You could say I added a little value to the wine gift itself.

A few weeks later I was sitting on the couch and a message ticked in, where the recipient of the gift had taken a photo of the wine with the dinner they enjoyed with it, adding a sweet greeting. Of course I was happy about that - especially because I was sure that the recipient of the gift of wine partly appreciated it and partly remembered it was from me.

Consider whether you or your company should have a small mixed stock of delicious wines ready for your own wine gifts. You can read more information about our wines on this page and otherwise you are always welcome to write or call. We love to talk about wine, and we are happy to guide you to the best wine purchase.
