Collection: Domaine Drouhin-Laroze

The domaine dates back to 1850, when Jean-Baptiste Drouhin began producing wine in Gevrey-Chambertin. His granddaughter Suzanne married Alexandre Laroze, who had wine holdings in Chambolle Musigny, and the domain therefore changed its name to the current Drouhin-Laroze.

This is classic Burgundy from some of the absolute best fields - both 1st cru and grand cru - in the Côte de Nuits. For five generations, the Drouhin family has stood for high-quality wines in an authentic, Burgundian style. Wines with class, elegance, fullness and finesse that clearly express the terroir from which they come. This is how Philippe Drouhin wants his wines to be, and the next generation, with daughter Caroline and son Nicholas, is already in position.

Over the years, the family has deliberately bought up fields primarily located on slopes. This involved a certain risk, especially in the past, because they were more expensive to acquire, more difficult to cultivate and gave a lower yield. But the investments turned out to be the right choice, because over time the fields were to become some of the most prestigious in the region - and thus the basis for some of the greatest wines that Burgundy could present

Today, the Drouhin family owns 11.5 ha spread over fields in Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Vougeot. The domaine has shares in six Grand Cru fields - Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Chapelle-Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin, Bonnes Mares, Musigny and Clos de Vougeot.

As much as 42% of Drouhin-Larozes totaling 11.5 ha. vineyards are today Grand Cru, and no other producer has such a large concentration of Grand Cru vineyards.
