Godello is a white grape variety that is primarily grown in the north-west of Spain, specifically in the region of Bierzo in Galicia. It is known for its fruity and floral notes and a fine acid balance. The Godello grapes have a blue-black color and a medium-thick body. When grown and produced correctly, Godello wines can be very harmonious and smooth, with delicious flavors of honey, flowers, peaches and citrus fruits. Godello is one of the most recognized grape varieties in Spain, and the wines made from this variety are often compared to the best white wines from Piedmont in Northern Italy.
