Collection: Le Vignette
The Le Vignette winery, located on the slopes of Monte Amiata in Tuscany, is a young and passionate family business founded in 2019 by Luca and Giuditta when they rented a small vineyard in Seggiano, just to try their hand at winemaking.
At the end of 2020, the couple bought their own small cellar and set about taking the winery's operation to the next level. Today, Le Vignette consists of 6 small parcels covering a total of 1.2 hectares, and the vines are between 40 and 90 years old old. These old vines are a mix of both white and red varieties, with the whites including trebbiano, malvasia toscana, riminese and ansonica, while the reds are dominated by sangiovese and sangiovese grosso, but also include rare varieties such as ciliegiolo, uva del cavaliere and colorino.
The winery's production methods are characterized by a deep respect for nature and traditional craftsmanship. No tractors are used in the vineyards – all work is done manually, from pruning to harvesting. Only minimal amounts of copper and sulfur are used as treatment, and the grapes are fermented without added yeast cultures.
In the cellar, they use a combination of steel tanks and large, used oak barrels to preserve the grapes' natural aromas and flavor nuances. The goal is to create wines that speak for themselves, with minimal intervention and a deep respect for the Tuscan landscape and its traditions.
In 2022, Le Vignette began the journey towards organic certification, and at the end of the same year they became part of the prestigious association Vinnatur, which brings together producers of natural wines. Le Vignette produces wines that reflect Monte Amiata's unique terroir, with great character and an honest expression of their old vines and sustainable approach.
