Taurasi DOCG is an Italian classification from the province of Avellino in the Campania region. To achieve DOCG status, the wine must meet strict requirements regarding grape variety, vinification, post-fermentation and schedules. The following are some of the main requirements for the Taurasi DOCG:

Grape variety: Taurasi DOCG must be produced from at least 85% Aglianico grapes, while the remaining 15% can be other local grapes.

Vinification: The wine must be produced using traditional methods, including spontaneous fermentation and long post-fermentation.

Ageing: Taurasi DOCG must age for at least three years, of which at least two years must be in oak barrels.

Release: Taurasi DOCG may not be sold until after January 1 of the fourth year after harvest.

Geographical area: Taurasi DOCG must be produced in the specific geographical area of the province of Avellino.
