Here is the house's first produced wine, Casanova di Neri's signature wine.

The grapes for this wine come from the fields around the cellar in the eastern part of Montalcino. These are Fiesole at an altitude of 350-380 meters and Podernuovo at an altitude of 420-490 meters. The underground is Galestro in both places.

After the harvest at the end of September/early October 2019, the optically sorted grapes spontaneously fermented in stainless steel under temperature control for 23 days.

The wine has subsequently matured for 42 months in botti of 60 - 102 hl, followed by 6 months of bottle aging.

The fragrance is exciting and generous, with notes of bergamot, wild violet, cherry and morello cherry.

The taste is welcoming and harmonious, but still intense and juicy with a good balance. A lovely young wine which, however, will come into its own even more after a few more years in the bottle.

A sublime storage potential. Since the first vintage (1977), the wine has shown great shelf life, and even the first vintages of the wine have proven to be completely fresh when tasted.

Critic reviews

95+ Monica Larner
Wine Advocate
The Casanova di Neri 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows thick fruit fabric with stitchings of underbrush, pressed rose, bright cherry, tobacco and balanced oak spice. This wine definitely has a special groove. It offers a ripe, round texture with good acidity followed by fine, chalky tannins. This is impressive quality for 109,600 bottles produced. In fact, this is one of the best village Brunellos from Giacomo Neri and his family made so far.
