Colleoni SELVARELLA Sangiovese IGT 2021
Colleoni SELVARELLA Sangiovese IGT 2021
Marino bought this piece of land 24 years ago. He saw the most beautiful little garden 400 meters up the mountain towards Castiglione d'Orcia. He fell in love and bought it. There was the finest view, and wine must have a beautiful look to become a beautiful wine. It was named Selvarella, little forest. The field is surrounded by a small forest
Volcanic soil, which also contains lime.
Marino has a great love for Chianti, so the grape composition is a tribute to Chianti.
95% Sangiovese and the last 5% a blend of Alicante, Pugnitello, Foglia Tonda, Mammolo and Prugnolo Gentile.
The grapes were harvested on 8 September 2021, and after natural fermentation for 20 days in a Slavonian cask, the wine has been aged for 20 months in a 10 hl Slavonian oak cask.
It is just a super delicious case that shows how natural wine can taste when it is made by a man who can make wine.
Pure natural wine, which is completely free of oxidation.
Only 1,300 bottles have been produced.
It tastes simply excellent, and is actually very similar to the house's Rosso di Montalcino. Same elegance and fruit.
NOTE: The back of the wine states that it contains sulphites. These are natural and not added. The wine itself makes sulphites.
