La Briccolina Barolo Briccolina DOCG 2017

Single vineyard wine from the highest point of Briccolina in Serralunga d'Alba.

After harvest, fermentation took place on cement followed by 2 years in 20 hl and 25 hl casks.

This is only vintage number 6 from the small producer and it is the first vintage where they have produced two casks. The ambition is to produce from the entire field itself, i.e. 5 ha. A new basement is therefore being built, but it is a huge investment. 2019 will be the first vintage with 3 casks.

The wine is relatively soft and fruity with a very fine balance. The tannins need some time to soften, but this is a wine that will be ready to drink before both 15-16-18 and 2019.

The house's well-known elegant style is of course immediately recognisable.

We are very happy to be involved in this project, where we have been with the small family from the very beginning with the year 2012.
