Cupano Vino Rosso

Each year, when bottling of the next Brunello vintage is due to occur, Cupano tastes each barrel to decide which will make the final blend for their exquisite Brunello. Some barrels do not feel quite ready at the time of release and are therefore "set aside". Instead of releasing the content as a delayed Brunello release that might disrupt the usual annual releases of the winery's wines, it has instead become a tradition for Cupano to make a kind of exclusive extra wine - the house's rosso.

It is a blend of several vintages and is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, which is from their Brunello di Montalcino vineyards and 20% Merlot, which is also used for their fantastic wine, Ombrone.

The unique label is painted by a friend of the house and changes with each release.

A really nice Rosso with a super balance in both tannins, acidity and volume.

The aroma is strong with notes of dark red and ripe berries.

The taste is deliciously juicy and intense. Lots of sangiovese style with a little exciting twist.

We recommend enjoying it a degree colder and in large glasses, where the bouquet can really be expressed.
