Domaine Arnaud Baillot Nuits-Saint-Georges “Les Grandes Vignes” 2023
Elegant and complex Nuits-Saint-Georges that encapsulates the unique character and quality of the region. Made from Pinot Noir from the single vineyard "Les Grandes Vignes," the wine delivers a seductive balance between power and elegance.
In the glass, the wine appears deep ruby red with complex aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, violets, and a hint of forest floor. The taste offers ripe red fruit, spices, and a subtle minerality, rounded off by silky tannins and a long, persistent finish.
The "Les Grandes Vignes" vineyard is located on a slope with clay and limestone soil in southern Nuits-Saint-Georges. The vine plants, with deep roots, benefit from the draining terroir and cool nights, giving the grapes a fine concentration and freshness.
After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo gentle vinification with fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, some of which are new, adding structure and a discreet vanilla tone without overwhelming the purity of the grape.
This wine is an obvious choice for dishes with game, lamb, or mushroom risotto. It should be served at 14-16 degrees Celsius and has the potential to develop beautifully in the bottle over the next 5-10 years. An exquisite Burgundy that showcases Arnaud Baillot's skill as a winemaker.
